Enchroma and Centaur are the big Winners and TravelAbility InnovateAble Pitchfest.

Sausalito, California. May 1, 2023 – A pitch event showcasing the latest assistive technology and innovations that make travel easier for people with disabilities will take place virtually on July 26, 2023, celebrating the 33rd anniversary of the ADA.  The event, organized by TravelAbility, an organization working within the tourism industry to improve the travel experience for people with disabilities, will feature presentations from companies and startups in the field of assistive innovations and technology. The goal of the event is to highlight the latest advancements in innovations that can improve the travel experiences of people with disabilities. Attendees will have the opportunity to see demonstrations of cutting-edge products and hear from the experts that created them.

InnovateAble winners were chosen by a panel of judges representing members of the investor community, hotels, cruise lines and destinations and the recruiter for the annual pitchfest held on the main stage at CES in Las Vegas in January 2024 as well as by the People’s Choice Award, voted by attendees. 

The overall winner was Enchroma, a 13 year old patented lens technology that makes colors visible to those who are color blind.  

First Runner Up: Translate Live ILA, a two way device that enables hotel and attractions to provide close captioning, language translation and ASL sign language assistance on demand.

Second Runner Up: Spoke, an app that ensures the deaf never miss important public announcements at airports or in public locations.

People’s Choice Award: Centaur Robotics, a revolutionary electric vehicle that elevates and fits into the space of a dining room chair to navigate narrow rooms spaces.

TravelAbility Announces Winners of InnovateAble Pitchfest for Assistive Technology

TravelAbility, an organization working to improve the travel experience for people with disabilities, has announced the winners of its InnovateAble Pitchfest, a virtual event that showcased the latest assistive technology and innovations for travelers with disabilities. The event took place on July 26, 2023, to celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The InnovateAble Pitchfest featured presentations from 10 companies and startups that have developed cutting-edge products and services that can make travel easier and more enjoyable for people with different abilities. The presentations were judged by a panel of experts from the tourism industry, the investor community, and the CES pitchfest recruiter, as well as by the attendees who voted for the People’s Choice Award.

The overall winner of the InnovateAble Pitchfest was Enchroma, a company that makes patented lens technology that enables people who are color blind to see colors. Enchroma also offers lenses for scenic viewer telescopes that can enhance the visual experience of color for travelers at various destinations.
